Purpose of this blog

🌿 About Me

“Tending faith, home, and heart in the sacred everyday.”

Welcome, friend.
I’m Susan—a homemaker, micro-baker, mother of five, and now grandmother of many. I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart for over four decades, and together we’ve built a life full of shared faith, everyday grace, and a home that always made room—sometimes crowded, sometimes chaotic, but always enough.

I’ve been writing online since 2006—sometimes often, sometimes not. I didn’t set out to be a blogger or a brand. I just wanted a place to process what I was learning, keep from bumping around in my own head too much, and reflect on where God was showing up in the ordinary days.

Over the years, I’ve written about everything from raising kids and cooking for a crowd to spiritual rhythms, grief, gardens, marriage, and homemaking. The blog has shifted alongside my life, but the heart behind it has stayed the same:
To share what I’m learning, to tell the truth gently, and to remind women that ordinary life is sacred.

🪴 Why I Write Here

I’m not chasing an audience, but I do hope to find one.

I’m not aiming for viral content or a publishing deal. This isn’t a business blog, and I’m not offering affiliate links or sponsored posts.

But I am offering something.

I want to be a faithful steward of my gifts—and one of those is writing. This space is where I show up to do that with honesty and heart. I don’t know where it will lead, and I’m okay with that. I’m not building an empire or a platform—I’m tending the soil of a little corner of the internet, writing the stories God gives me, and offering what I have.

If my words feel like a familiar place, you’re welcome to linger.

If something here encourages you, I’d be honored if you shared it or joined my email list. This is not a space for noise or pressure. It’s a place to breathe, reflect, and feel less alone.

✨ Is This Blog for You?

If you’ve ever felt out of place in the hustle and noise of modern life…

If you’ve longed for slower rhythms, sacred routines, and more time at the table with the people you love…

If you’re a homemaker at heart—even if your hands are full or your home doesn’t look Pinterest-perfect…

If you're learning (or re-learning) how to live simply, steward what matters, and put people before things…

Then yes—this blog is for you.

You might be:

  • A woman in her 50s or 60s entering a new season of purpose
  • A grandmother who loves to gather her people
  • A younger homemaker seeking wisdom and tradition
  • A woman of faith who wants more than productivity and perfection
  • Someone longing for beauty in the ordinary

Or maybe you’re just someone who loves the smell of bread, the sound of laughter in a kitchen, or the comfort of knowing you’re not the only one learning to live well.

Whoever you are—if you're here, you're welcome.

I’m not offering a formula. I’m just sharing a life.
And if that gives you peace or purpose or even just a smile—then I’m so glad you stopped by.
